Shun(later Shun the Great) ‘s father is blind. His father married another woman, and Shun’s brother – Xiang, was born. His father and step-mother have been treating him bad, and Xiang has also been malicious to him. The three of them have always been thinking of killing Shun.

At that time, Emperor Yao was looking for people who is mature and virtuous. People recommended Shun to him. Yao married his two daughters to Shun, and Shun’s virtue also affected them. Yao finally gave his power to Shun.
